(1918-1998) This Navajo artist's name, Hoskiel Ha So Deh translates to Fiercely Ascending. He was the son of Pablita and Narciso Abeyta.
Narciso Platero Abeyta served in World War II for four years. His occupations were many and varied: silversmith, boxer, job placement interviewer and field recruiter, personnel and vocational counselor, interpreter and painter. He created murals during the 1930's in New Mexico and won numerous awards for his artwork beginning in the later 1930's.
Southwest Art magazine reviewed his work in their June 1983 issue.
