(Born circa 1960) A resident of Albuquerque, New Mexico, Doug Weigel produces two and three dimensional sculptures and furniture in steel and other metals. He is represented exclusively in Arizona by Wilde Meyer Gallery.
Beginning to weld metal at the age of nine, Weigel applied this talent to his work in construction while living in Arizona. His fascination with petroglyphs shaped the appearance of his artwork.
Weigel's work has been commissioned for the Central Avenue Project in Phoenix, the Petrified National Forest, the Scottsdale Airport, the Petroglyph National Monument, the Fine Arts Gallery on the State Fairground and the New Mexico State Records Center and Archives/ State Library.
