About the Artist

(Born circa 1920 - 1980's) This Hopi potter was a member of the Parrot Clan.

Paymella was known for her redware bowls and plates. Her favorite designs are prayer sticks, clouds, parrots, parrol tail feathers and germination symbols.

She is mentioned in Gregory Schaaf's book Hopi-Tewa Pottery 500 Artists Biographies.
