(Born circa 1960) Known for her brooches and pendants, Emma Bighand learned to make jewelry from her parents. This Navajo silversmith is guided in her designs by the shape of the natural turquoise she chooses.

A horsewoman, Bighand tends sheep and is a hardy collector of antiques.
