(Born 1969) This Cuban artist has an international following with galleries offering his work in both Los Angeles, California and London, England. His solo exhibitions have taken place in Switzerland, Spain, Guatemala, the United States, Mexico, Belgium, Germany and Cuba.
Miranda studied at the Institute Superior de Arte in Havana.
His work is often focused on maps of Cuba, emphasizing the notions of isolation as well as change, i.e. metamorphosis.
Museums including his work in their permanent collections are prestigious: Museum of Modern Art in New York, the National Gallery of Art in Washington, D.C. and the Thyssen-Bornemisza Contemporary Art Foundation in Austria, to name just three.
