(Born 1946) Since 1980 this Cochiti potter has been working with clay. Mary E. Quintana is known for her storytellers, nativity groupings and various other clay sculptures. These she makes with traditional clay she prepares. Her forms are than enhanced with the application of acrylic paint.
Mary Quintana is related to four family members who are also artists, a brother (Pablo), a sister-in-law (Margaret) and two nieces (Pamela and Olivia). She is cited in the Schaaf book Southern Pueblo Pottery 2000 Artist Biographies as well as Douglas Congdon-Martin's book Storytellers and Other Figurative Pottery.
