About the Artist

A Creek Indian, Danny Kaler's preferred medium is watercolor. His work has been exhibited at the Cherokee National Museum in Tahlequah, Oklahoma; at the Five Civilized Tribes Museum in Muskogee, Oklahoma and at the Philbrook Art Center in Tulsa, Oklahoma. Kaler has won prizes at the Five Civilized Tribes Museum in 1971, 1972, 1973 and 1985, winning the first prize in 1973 and 1985. Kaler was a student at the Institute of American Indian Arts in the 1960's and is known for his traditional approach to painting, hinging on realism.
