About the Artist

"Lucie Sevin was a French sculptor who exhibited in Paris at the Salon des Artistes Francais. She won a bronze medal in 1932, a silver medal in 1937 and a gold medal at the Exposition Universelle in Paris the same year." Excerpted from Benezit's Dictionary of Artists "

Lucie Sevin was known for her figures as well as her relief plaques." Dictionary of Sculptors in Bronze by James Mackay According to a citation in Volume Three of Bronzes 1800-1930 Sculptors and Founders, Sevin was actively producing work between 1920 and 1940. A beautiful example is illustrated on page 515 of this book titled Whispers. Sevin is also mentioned in McClinton's book Art Deco published in 1972.
