About the Artist

This potter from Santa Clara was actively making pottery from 1970 forward. Ramona was known for her polished and carved blackware bowls and jars as well as her black-on-black painted and polished seed jars. Mrs. Tapia's work appeared in several issues of American Indian Art magazine in the 1980's. Gregory Schaaf has included her in his volume Pueblo Indian Pottery 750 Artist Biographies.
