About the Artist
This Swis artist was born in Milan. A painter, he studied at the academy in Venice, then at the Brera Academy in Milan (1932 to 1937).
A founder-member of the Corrente group, his style evolved from lyrical imagery to abstract expressionism. In 1953 he moved to Switzerland.
His work was chosen for three Venice Biennales (1948, 1960, 1958) as well as the Rome Quadriennale in 1948. Valenti was awarded the Fabbri Brothers Prize at the 25th Venice Biennale in 1950.
In May 1962 a solo exhibition was presented of Valenti's work at The Waddington Galleries in London.
