About the Artist
A bald eagle's head in profile facing viewer's right is Roger Selina's hallmark.
A member of the Snow clan, Roger is from Shungopani village. He first began making work as a silversmith in 1985. Trained at the Hopi Silvercraft Cooperative Guild, his brother James Selina is also a silversmith.
Roger Selina is cited in Margaret Nickelson Wright's book Hopi Silver The History and Hallmarks of Hopi Silversmithing. Gregory Schaaf's book American Indian Jewelry I references this artist and his brother, James.
