(Born 1930) There is a healthy listing describing Reckling's art career in the Heller book North American Women Artists of the Twentieth Century: A Biographical Dictionary. This impressive tome was published in 1995. Reckling was also included in American Artists, a illustrated survey of leading American contemporary artists (1985). More recently in the magazine American Art Review (2001), she was named in an article titled "A Century of New Artists".
In 2001 Reckling's work was included in an exhibit titled "American Women Artists" held in Santa Fe, New Mexico. This same year she was one of several artists invited to show at the Desert Caballeros Museum in Wickenberg, Arizona in an exhibition titled "A Century of Arizona Women Artists".
This artist's focus has primarily absorbed by the Western landscape. She hasn't hesitated to emphasize a soft, poetic palette. Her interpretations have blended realism and abstraction. Her latest work is more heavily committed to extremely painterly abstraction.
