About the Artist
Ron Kent began his avocation as a wood artist when his wife bought him a wood-lathe for Christmas in the early 1960s. He first had his work accepted in a juried exhibition in 1967.
A retired stockbroker living in Hawaii, Kent makes his translucent bowls from exotic tropical woods, primarily Norfolk Island Pine.
Ron Kent’s work can be found in many prestigious museums - including the Metropolitan Museum of Art and the American Craft Museum in New York; the White House Collection and the Smithsonian Institute in Washington, D.C.; the Louvre in Paris; and the Vatican Museum in Rome.
