About the Artist
Husband and wife, Ben and Geraldine Toya of Jemez pueblo. Beginning in 1985 they began to produce pottery as a team, primarily fineline, polychrome jars, vases, wedding vases and bowls.They won Best of Show and Best of Pottery at the 1998 New Mexico State Fair. The following year they also were awarded at 1st prize at the New Mexico State Fair.
Ben is a member of the Acorn Clan. They are cited in Gregory Schaaf's book Southern Pueblo Pottery 2,000 Artist Biographies.
