About the Artist
(1953-2021, Navajo) After having earned an undergraduate degree in Civil Engineering, King completed a Masters degree in Business Administration at the University of New Mexico. He did not pursue his interest in painting on a professional level until the year 2000.In 2002 his painting Spirit Horses was chosen for the official poster for the Pueblo Grande Indian Market (Phoenix, Arizona). This same year King received Best of Category and Best of Division for his traditional style painting at the Santa Fe Indian Market. The following summer the artist once again received Best of Category for a painting titled The Wager.
