About the Artist

(1912-2001)  Ira Moskowitz was born in Poland but moved with his family to New York City in 1927.  He received a full scholarship to attend the New York Art Students League.  He also earned a Guggenheim Fellowship in 1943. 

 Moskowitz and his wife became close friends with several members of the Taos Founders and in 1955, they moved for a brief period to Taos, New Mexico.  Moskowitz later moved back to New York and eventually split his time between New York and Paris. 

 His art is included in collections throughout the United States, Europe and Israel.  He is profiled in Who’s Who in American Art.
