About the Artist
(1905-1977) Also known as Wayne Henry Hunt, the son of Morning Star, a potter and a weaver as Edward Hunt, a medicine man, Wolf Robe Hunt grew up in Albuquerque.
First Hunt studied under Carl Redin, then Frank Von der Laucken in Tulsa, Oklahoma.
A multi-focused individual, his occupations were as follows: lecturer, author, dancer, dance group organizer, instructor, motel owner and operator, interpreter, Indian trader, silversmith and painter. His medias were listed as oil, casein, silver and gemstones.
His work is included in the following public collections: Bureau of Indian Affairs; Indian Arts and Crafts Board, Department of Interior, Washington, DC; Museum of Northern Arizona, Flagstaff, Arizona; Millicent Rogers Foundation Museum, Taos, New Mexico; and the Philbrook Art Center in Tulsa, Oklahoma.
