About the Artist

Stella Huma lived at Hano (Tewa Village), First Mesa, on the Hopi reservation in Arizona. She was active as a potter from 1960-1996, using parrot, rain and cloud designs. Known for her traditional polychrome bowls. jars and canteens, her work is in the collection of the Philbrook Art Center in Tulsa. Oklahoma. She is cited in Hopi-Tewa Pottery by Gregory Schaff.
