Her apprenticeship with James Hubbell while in her early twenties helped to shape her creative core.

Solo exhibitions have taken place at The Tucson Museum of Art and the Tacoma Museum of Glass as well as at commercial art galleries such as the Lisa Sette Gallery (Arizona);, Elliott Arts West (New Mexico) and the Anne Reed Gallery (Idaho).

Largely known for her subtle three-dimensional expressions, often employing resin housing elements from nature, Kratz created canvases imbued with painterly drama early on.
