While growing up on the White Bear Reserve near Carlyle, Saskatchewan, Lonechild develped an appreciation for hiss culture, which is why he has chosen to share aspects of his culture through his paintings.

By the early 1980's he was singled out for recognition as one of the youngest and fastest rising Creek artists by Dr. John Anson Warner in his book The Life and Art of the North American Indian.  The artist's work has hung in the Canadian Embassy in Washington, DC.
