About the Artist
Morris Talawytewa Robinson (circa 1900 - circa 1987) was a Hopi silversmith cited as a significant forerunner of Charles Loloma. He, like Loloma was known for his creative and innovative designs working in both silver and gold.
Examples of his jewelry were included in major museum jewelry exhibitions in both Santa Fe and in New York. All noteworthy books chronicling important American Indian jewelers of the 20th century cite Morris Robinson. A member of both the Lizard and Snake clan, the hallmark he later used utilized an "H" and a snake.
