About the Artist
Tso Yazzy translates to Big Little from Navajo. Born in 1936 Chester Kahn is likely best known for his work as a muralist; however, his occupational history includes sign and billboard painting, fabric design, silversmithing as well as work as a coordinator and teacher's aide.
One mural is visible at the Indian Community Center in Gallup, New Mexico. Kahn has won numerous awards in Nevada, Arizona and in Oklahoma. He is cited in Jeanne Snodgrass's book American Indian Painters: A Biographical Directory as well as Clara Lee Tanner's book Southwest Indian Painting: A Changing Art.
