About the Artist
(Born 1946) This Santo Domingo jeweler first became active making jewelry during the 1960's. Her awards are numerous from 1977 forward.
"Angie Reano is credited with reviving the tradition of inlaid jewelry in the 1970's, when the market had shifted to heishi beads and silver and turquoise jewelry. She chose to embrace traditional patterns from prehistoric jewelry utilizing mosaic designs originally assembled on shells." Gregory Schaaf's book on American Indian Jewelry III: M-Z 2,100 Artists Biographies.
