About the Artist

(1900-1989) Born in San Juan Pueblo, this talented potter married Robert Gonzales (Santa Ildefonso pueblo) in 1920.

One of the earliest potters to embrace carved decoration, Rose Gonzales' carving was shallow yielding a rather calming effect when viewing a vessel's exterior.
