(Born 1966, Coast Salish) Originally from Victoria, British Columbia, Aubrey LaFortune is a member of the Owl Clan of the Tsawout First Nation.
The youngest of six brothers, the family also includes eight sisters. His older brothers Doug and Frances exposed him to his cultural background as well as traditional carving techniques. Preferring to work in red cedar and alder wood, Aubrey fashions rattles, masks, totems, bowls and sculptures.
