(Born 1975, Laguna/ Cochiti) A member of the Lizard clan, West learned pottery making from both family members and various friends. His career as a potter was launched in 1998.
West is known for pottery resembling Santa Clara pottery, polished blackware, into which he incises designs and then accents these designs typically with turquoise stones.
He has won prizes at the New Mexico State Fair for his pottery in 1999, 2000 and 2001. West's work is referenced in Gregory Schaaf's book on Southern Pueblo Pottery 2,000 Artist Biographies.
