About the Artist

(Born 1947, Santa Clara potter) Daughter of Mary Cain, granddaughter of Christina Naranjo--Joy has been actively fashioning pottery since 1965.

Joy's favorite design is the plumed serpent, the avanyu. She is fond of making carved redware and blackware jars, bowls and wedding vases. Her work is well crafted and traditional in flavor.
