About the Artist

Two Santa Clara potters (Born 1910)and (Born 1946), this mother and daughter team is known for their black on black pottery as well as polychrome redware.  Nicolasa's grandmother was Sara Fina Tafoya, while her cousin was Margaret Tafoya.

Favorite designs are listed as the avanyu, bear paws and kiva steps.
