(Born 1947) A Cape Dorset sculptor and printmaker, both of Niviaqsi's parents were artists. Pitseolak's aunt and uncle are the well-known artists Lucy and Tikituk Quinnuayuak.
Since the early 1970's Pitseolak has participated in the lithography program, initially as an assistant to Pee Mikkigak, his brother Qiatsuq and Bob Patterson, was as acting arts advisor at the time. His name appears on 205 prints in sixteen annual collections.
Pitscolak stopped carving in 1991 to devote himself to builidng his own house. His career as a carver subsequently was resumed. In November - December 1995 he was given a solo exhibition at the Canadian Guild of Handicrafts Quebec. The artist was asked to participate in an important group exhibition in July 1994 titled Arctic Spirit 35 Years of Canadian Inuit Art held at the Frye Art Museum in Seattle, Washington.
