About the Artist

(Born circa 1970, Navajo) Carlos Begay is known for both his wood sculpting and his paintings.

At the Navajo marketplace Carlos Begay won 1st place with his sculpture in 1996, as well as a 1st place in the category of Folk Carvings.  The following year he won honorable mention ribbons for both his watercolors and his sculptures.  In 1999 he won 1st place with one of his watercolors and a 2nd place for his wood sculpture.
