About the Artist

(Born 1942, Acoma/ Zia/ Zuni) Her Indian name "Shru-wa-tsi-tai" translates to Blue Jay.

Nearly a page has been devoted to Angelina in Gregory Schaaf's book Southern Pueblo Pottery.

Artist of the Year in 1990 at the Indian Arts and Crafts Association competition in Mesa, Arizona, Medina has won numerous awards for her entirely creative pottery statements since 1981.

One impressive statement by Angelina in Schaaf's book reflects her positive nature, the voice of someone we would all like to call "friend":

"A person is not limited to one or two things.  An artist has unlimited potential to do anything their heart desires."

Perhaps we could even replace the words "an artist" with "Anyone"
