About the Artist

(Born 1894-deceased, Cochiti Pueblo) There is not an abundance of Romero's sculpture in clay available in the market. Values reflect this relative rarity.

According to Gregory Schaaf's book, Romero's active period of pottery making was circa 1910-1960's.  She was known for her large storage jars as well as effigy figures and storytellers in clay.
