Known to have worked with her daughter, Evelyn, Celes Tafoya was known for her undecorated and carved blackware bowls, jars, plates and wedding vases.

Celes Tafoya from Santa Clara Pueblo has won many awards at Santa Fe's Indian Market beginning in 1979 through 1999, exhibiting at the Eight Northern Indian Pueblos Arts & Crafts Show between 1972 and 1999.
