About the Artist

An indigenous people to Arizona, Yavapai people were largely hunter-gatherers. The Yavapai have much in common with their neighbors the Havasupai, the Hualapai, and the Athabascan Apache. Often they were confused with Apache people by American settlers.

According to Wikipedia, there are less than 200 Yavapai tribal members currently.
