About The Tapis Woman's Initiation Skirt

A nurse took care of an Indonesian patient, who then gifted this skirt to the nurse. The nurse upon learning that she was headed for assisted living with no known relatives, gifted the skirt to a special friend. Although the special friend admired the handsome textile, it seemed to be more appropriately maintained by a collector who would have a greater understanding of the textile's context. And now is currently offered by www.SavvyCollector.com . . .

Five Centuries of Indonesian Textiles was just published by the incomparable Santa Fe textile dealer Mary Kahlenberg.
