|About the Artist||(Born 1941) Known for meticulously crafted boxes and innovative furniture, Leong originally trained as an architect. A British citizen, Leong attended the Royal College of Art in London in 1958. In 1964 he earned a Diploma with Honors in 1964 at the Architectural Association School of Architecture, also in London.
Museum collections including his creations in their permanent collections are: Los Angeles County Museum of Art; the Mint Museum of Craft + Design in Charlotte, North Carolia; the Delaware Art Museum; the Yale University Art Gallery; the Long Beach Museum of Art in California; the Smithsonian Museum; the Hickory Museum of Art in Hickory, North Carolina; the Racine Art Museum in Racine, Wisconsin; the Die Neue Sammlung (The International Design Museum) in Munich, Germany; the Fuller Craft Museum in Massachusetts and the Red Star Museum Collection in Beijing, China.
In 1998 the book was published titled Po Shun Leong Art Boxes.
His awards are too numerous to list acquired between 1953 and 2015.
