About The Three Deer in Morning Light

This crisp snow seems refreshing after such a blistering summer !

Freeman's sensitivity to the play of shadows, both tree and deer is entirely satisfying.

An image of this painting by Freeman was requested for an upcoming publication Painters of the Tetons.

About Bill Freeman

(1927-2013) Described in Peggy and Harold and Samuels' book Contemporary Western Artists as a painter and sculptor of Western wildlife, horses and landscapes, Freeman was taught to make art by his mother.

An itinerant cowboy in Arizona, New Mexico, California, Wyoming and Massachusetts, he wrangled horses in summer and worked cattle in winter on ranches and dude ranches. Freeman joined the Arizona Game Department ot gain skills for wildlife painting.
