About the Artist (Born circa 1930) Sadie B. Curtis resides in the area of Ganado, Arizona.

"Sadie Curtis is one of the most famous weavers.  For years she worked at Hubbell Trading Post demonstrating weaving to visitors.  She is known for her revival treatments of traditional designs as well as for her artistic treatment of Ganado weavings.  

Especially noteworthy is her depiction of the American flag in a weaving featured on the cover of Arizona Highways magazine in July 1976." (Buzz Trevathan, Cristof's Santa Fe, NM)

Curtis is included is most every noteworthy book covering 20th century Navajo weavings.
