About The Center of Life

This artist's depiction of this woman's feet draw the viewer's eye to a greater degree than her penetrating stare.  Her hands grasping the Navajo wedding basket are our next focal point, gradually working up to her face.

About the Artist

(Born 1951, Navajo) Singer's command over drawing the human figure is admirable. His approach to subject matter integrates realism with a sense of irony and sometimes humor.

This talented man's work is included in the permanent public collections of the Heard Museum in Phoenix, AZ; the University of New Mexico Museum; the Museum of New Mexico of Albuquerque; the Wheelwright Museum in Santa Fe, New Mexico; the Roswell Museum and Art Center in New Mexico, the Louis B. Leaky Foundation Collection in San Francisco and the Philadelphia Museum of Art.
