About The Artist
Calvin Dunn was born in 1915 in Ohio. He studied art at the Cincinnati Art Academy. During World War II he served as an animation and art director at Wright Field, now known as Wright Patterson Air Force Base in Dayton, Ohio. Dunn became a noted designer and illustrator working in watercolor and oil.
Beginning in 1947 he was president of Cal Dunn studios in Chicago. His work included watercolor assignments for the Ford Motor Company. He was later employed as a designer and illustrator for the Ramsey Company in Davenport, Iowa.
Cal Dunn was a member of the American Watercolor Society.
