Very unusual sunface squash blossom necklace. There are 12 little faces in the naja and one in each of 12 "blossoms".They are inlaid with the four sacred stones in soft colors of blue-green turquoise and orange spiney oyster shell. Not all are alike, if you look closely. The naja is ornamented with two hand-made leaves and small silver "raindrops". The blossoms are little silver flower pots from which a sunface "blossoms". With two leaves each appear to bloom.
The necklace is assembled on a double row of early round and melon seed bench beads. What makes this piece so special is that looking at all those sweet little faces is like looking at a classroom full of first graders--some showing their individuality more than others--some will bloom where they are planted and a small nucleus of children who will, together, be the source of things to come.
This necklace is more than jewelry, it is a loving interpretation of what makes people possess a gentle humor--an undeniable sweetness.
