About William Wegman
William Wegman was born in Holyoke, Massachusetts and received a Bachelor of Fine Arts at the Massachusetts College of Art in Boston. He later earned a Master of Fine Arts from the University of Illinois. Wegman is world renowned for his photographs, videotapes, paintings and drawings, particularly those of his Weimaraner dogs. He has received numerous grants from the Guggenheim Fellowship. National Endowment for the Arts and the Creative Artists Public Service. His art is in the public collections of such prestigious institutions as the Museum of Modern Art. New York; Whitney Museum of American Art. New York; San Francisco Museum of Modern Art, California; Los Angeles County Museum of Art, California and the F.R.A.C. Limousin, Limoges,France. Wegman has held solo exhibitions throughout the world and a retrospective of his work was recently held in museums and galleries throughout the United States and Europe.
