About The Artwork

The "absolute corsage?, this beautiful channel inlay coral pin will add warm color to any outfit in any season! The largest flower of three is made of gold lip shell mother of pearl with a deep blue turquoise heart. In additional to the golden sunshine color, the six petals shimmer with a rainbow luster. Two smaller five petal blossoms above, have creamy petals of green sea snail shell that capture all the colors of a southwest sunset. Their hearts are made of strawberry red coral and all three blossoms are accented on either side by a single silver stem with three repousse hand-stamped leaves. This broach defines ?art to wear?. These eternal blossoms are the handiwork of Anselm and Rosita Wallace.

About The Artist
Anselm Wallace, Zuni, was born circa 1935. Living at Zuni Pueblo, he was active as a jeweler from 1955-1991, specializing in mosaic and channel inlay. He was well-known for his flower design, often referred to as a desert rose. Anselm collaborated with his wife, Rosita Wallace, who is known for her butterflies. The Wallaces did not begin signing their work until 1979.
