About the Artist

(Born 1915) Having first made pottery during the 1950's, Williams continues forming vessels while in her 90's.

"Rose has won awards at the Inter-Tribal Indian Ceremonial in Gallup, New Mexico; at the Navajo Craftsman Exhibition at the Museum of Northern Arizona in Flagstaff and at the Heard Museum in Phoenix.  In 1986 one of her large, traditionally shaped jars was awarded top honors in the pottery division at the Navajo Nation Fair in Window Rock, Arizona.  She also makes pipes.

Signed No, but label attached to jar's bottom names "Rose Williams" as maker
Date of creation Circa 1965 - 1970
Condition Excellent to good, due to one (1) distinct chip and carious white, smudge like surface markings
