"Robert Bestién Originals" references leather handbags and accessories (wallets) first used in commerce in 1955. Robert Bestién Handbags & Accessories Corporation became a division of Best Craft Handbags Corporation located at 1 East 33rd Street between 1978 to 1987.

For several years (1975-1978) Robert Bestién Originals maintained a showroom at 350 5th Avenue, which is the address of the Empire State Building. There is an advertisement showing Mr. Bestién surrounded by handbags of his design appearing in the New York Times on March 5, 1972, when Bestién was located at 39 West 32nd Street.
