This original poster was mounted on linen, I am told.  

Its condition is excellent, with no visible damage or discoloration.

My photography reveals reflection of the silver walls where this oversized fine original poster is kept.  

Its frame is in beautiful condition, as is this poster.

Framed in 1993 at a cost of $2,286 for this custom frame.

On February 13, 2011 another impression of Cognac Monnet by Cappiello sold through Poster Auctions International for $5,760, against an estimate of $5,000 to $6,000.  This version; however, was noted to have tears, which is not true of the poster offered here on SavvyCollector.com.  It is also not likely that its framing was this handsome or in excellent condition.

"Leonetto Cappiello (9. April 1875 in Livorno, Italy – 2. February 1942 in Cannes, France) was an Italian poster art designer who lived in Paris.[1] He is now often called 'the father of modern advertising' because of his innovation in poster design.

The early advertising poster was characterized by a painterly quality as evidenced by early poster artists Jules Chéret, Alfred Choubrac and Hugo D'Alesi. Cappiello, like other young artists, worked in way that was almost the opposite of his predecessors. He was the first poster artist to use bold figures popping out of black backgrounds, a startling contrast to the posters early norm.
