About The Tiger Iron Silver Cuff Links

These handsome cuff links have just enough flash in the polished silver bars to either side of the tiger iron stone inlay.

They are a visually strong yet subtle statement. At first the stones appear to be iron wood or petrified wood. Upon closer examination, one can see the mineral sheen in the lighter graining.

I have seen a few $50,000 board room tables with less interesting patterning.

The work in these cuff links is that of an unknown Navajo during the 1970's. There is no mark. In spite of that, these will make their mark with someone as a favorite accessory. Their design is embued with strength and confidence.

About Navajo

The Navajo were the first of the Native Americans of the Southwest to learn silversmithing from the Spanish. Most Navajo jewelry emphasizes silver, with turquoise stones used as an accent. Some pieces are cast in sand or tufa molds, while others are hammered, using a male stamp and a female die.
