About The Navajo or Pueblo Blue Gem Turquoise Ring

This ring was created to display the magnificent natural Blue Gem turquoise that is its heart. The framing is perfect and virtually seamless.

The work accomplished by either a Navajo or Pueblo master silversmith. The shank is divided into three pieces spread and attached to the back of the setting along its length on either side.

None of the silver used was commercially prepared. Everything was lovingly done by hand with amazing skill.

This ring will reward the hand that wears it, whether that hand be well manicured or be rough and storied with years of living and care giving.

Turquoise is the focus with a wavey wire frame pointing to water instead of sky. There is a bit of golden to red/ brown matrix making this a "female turquoise."

About Navajo

The Navajo were the first of the Native Americans of the Southwest to learn silversmithing from the Spanish. Most Navajo jewelry emphasizes silver, with turquoise stones used as an accent. Some pieces are cast in sand or tufa molds, while others are hammered, using a male stamp and a female die.
