View Full Size Image of Early Ingot Stamped Arrow Cuff, Jewelry by Navajo
Very heavy handsome ingot cuff made sometime within the first quarter of the 20th century. Whether Navajo or Hopi made is uncertain but the arrow and snake jaw stamped decoration is much like the things made for the Fred Harvey Company from 1905 or so into the early 20's.
This particular bracelet came by its current owner through another collector, Tom Woodard. He came to pick up a repair at the White Hogan and visit with Jon Bonnell. The bracelet, long admired by this particular repair person, was given as a bonus "for work well done". He actually took it off his wrist, so it was mandrel-sized to fit the wearer a little better.
It will fit a 6" wrist loosely, a 6 1/2" to 6 3/4" wrist just about right. As it is very work hardened--opening the cuff would be easier than closing it.
This cuff is unusual and visually very strong. It will pick its new owner because, like the person, it is and always will be one-of-a-kind.
