A 100 year old treasure ! This demure ingot cuff with a single hand-cut oval turquoise stone was created by an anonymous American Indian artist using a hammer, a file and two hand-carved stamps repeated and arranged to decorate the entire piece.
The silver content is a high and hammering sto shape. It has work hardened, giving it spring and strength. The ingot "fold" inside was left. It is evident in hammer-worked ingot work and is considered part of this piece's "story".
The stone has a horizontal hairline that is going nowhere. It too is part of the "story", though is barely visible, and supposedly is lucky. (When wearing turquoise, if a stone cracks, it tells the wearer to be more careful because death has been averted).
This elegant cuff has some good wear. 7/16" at its center widest point tapering gracefully to the rounded 7/32" wide tips. Its 1" opening can be adjusted to accomodate a smaller than 5 7/8" wrist. We have not had many bracelets of this age and size in such good condition.
This is a rare one for the tiny gals out there! Let it become part of your life's "story" !
